Each place sells the same dishes: chicken rice porridge, stir-fried instant noodles, and boiled eggs or egg balls. These kinds of restaurants open in the evening, perfect for dining while watching the sunset over the Mekong River. I have tried the chicken rice porridge myself and I think the one at Kampot is tastier.
Another common food I saw sold at many places is grilled snacks. Here, they grill whole snakehead fish with scales on. Besides snakehead fish, there are also grilled chicken, grilled pork, and grilled intestines. They eat these with steamed rice, not sticky rice. I think grilled snakehead fish should be delicious.
