The Ban Phak Kad international border checkpoint in Chanthaburi Province is a small crossing with few tourists. However, it is an international checkpoint open to both Thai and Cambodian nationals. This checkpoint is ideal for travelers heading to Prum City or Phnom Penh, as the road has recently been newly paved, offering excellent road conditions and beautiful roadside views. On the Cambodian side is Prum City.
Pronounced 'Pa-lom' quickly, Prum City is located 26 kilometers from Khlong Phailin District and over 100 kilometers from Phnom Penh. Prum City has two casinos, attracting a fair number of Thai gamblers, though not as many as Ban Laem or Poipet checkpoints, which are larger. Ban Laem checkpoint is about 30 kilometers north of Ban Phak Kad. On the Thai side, there is a border market at Ban Phak Kad, usually held on Saturdays and Tuesdays (if I remember correctly).

On regular days, it operates more like a wholesale market, with buyers coming as early as 3 or 4 AM, often arriving in trucks from Cambodia.
