I arrived by AirAsia around 10:00 AM.

After immigration, there are no public buses here despite my best efforts. Only taxis are available, charging 150,000 Rupiah per person or about 450 Baht for the 10+ kilometer trip into the city. I walked around the airport to negotiate and finally got a taxi for 80,000 Rupiah per car, approximately. Many Thai travelers book taxis from Thailand and have them waiting at the airport. Car rental for touring Bali today, May 5, 2014, is 60 USD for 10 hours or

1,800 Baht but can be negotiated. When I rented, I got it down to 1,200 Baht including the driver. If you come alone or as two people and don’t want to rent a car, get off at Ubud, about 10 kilometers north of Denpasar. There are daily tours there because many foreigners visit. Tour prices range from 400-600. Most foreigners visiting Bali come from Australia and usually stay in Kuta, a beach area not far from the airport. This beach has strong waves and is popular for surfing.

Surfboards This beach is like Phuket, full of foreigners walking around town. Most tourists arriving at Bali airport stay here first before traveling to other places. As for me, I don’t like the sea, so I stayed in Denpasar. In summary, I recommend taking a taxi, bargaining by asking around different taxi zones to get a cheaper price, then choosing to go to Kuta or Denpasar. For traveling around Bali island, there are also public buses. Try riding them; they are affordable. Mr.Hotsia - Travel with Satisfaction
