I prefer traveling during the day to see the scenery, local life, take photos, and not feel tired. I get exhausted if I travel by night train for several days. Several dozen kilometers before reaching Jakarta, both sides of the tracks are large communities full of houses. Upon arriving in Jakarta, I took a taxi to the hotel I had chosen. Food is sold on the train, but no Coke is available. No outsiders shout to sell things; only staff sell items, which feels safe. Another travel option is taking a budget airline, but it is more expensive than the train.
