I recommend staying at Monywa Hotel. Accommodation prices in Monywa City are a bit expensive. I paid 1300 baht. Other hotels are cheaper but are dusty, smell of cigarettes, or located outside the city near the bus station. Internet in Monywa City is slow but usable. I spent two hours looking for a hotel and finally stayed at Monywa Hotel. It was the most expensive accommodation on my trip because I had no other choice.
Regarding internet in Monywa hotels, it is available but slow. I recommend using Telenor or MPT SIM cards; both work well with sufficient speed for checking email and updating Facebook. Monywa City also has spa and massage services at Win Unity Resort Hotel (Monywa). This hotel costs about 1300 baht, similar to Monywa Hotel, but offers spa and massage. It is located by the lake but a bit far from the market where you find food. Walking back late at night is not very safe.
