Travel Kalasin - Kalasin Travel Information
Kalasin travel information http://www.hotsia.com > Travel Kalasin > Kalasin travel information I traveled to Kalasin province on a solo trip exploring Isan after returning from trips to Cambodia and Laos, then entering via Ubon. After that, I traveled by bus from Ubon to stay in Roi Et, Kalasin, and Maha Sarakham. The style of this trip was city touring, finding delicious food, and observing the lifestyle of the people of Kalasin province.

In terms of tourism, most promotions focus on Kalasin dinosaurs. On street signs in the city, there are dinosaur symbols. Mr.Hotsia is indifferent about dinosaurs. What impressed me most in the city is a pond located in the heart of Kalasin city. It serves as a public park where locals exercise in the morning and evening. I especially liked the evening (actually the morning would be nice but I didn’t wake up to see it) sunset at Kud Nam Kin.
People exercise, living a simple and relaxed life at this public park which also has a fitness center in the middle. I noticed many provinces have similar facilities to serve their residents, encouraging all Kalasin people to be strong, handsome, and beautiful all around. Around Kud Nam Kin public park, there are two restaurants and four hotels in the area. If you want to stay in Kalasin, you can book hotels in advance here. There is a coffee shop and spa called Kalafae. I have tried their service; it was good and the owner was friendly.
When I stayed in Kalasin, I stayed near the pond because I could enjoy beautiful views and walk for exercise in the morning and evening. I recommend staying in this area as it doesn’t feel cramped. There are coffee shops and spas, and at night you can listen to music at some venues. I suggest booking hotels in advance during long holidays or even non-holiday times to get better prices when booking online. You can book hotels in Kalasin here. Another thing that impressed me was before traveling, a Facebook friend recommended trying "Mam Somdet".
Later I found out that the best place to eat Mam in this district is actually in Khao district, but since I didn’t have a car, I asked which Mam shop in town locals prefer. I found Pa Tan’s shop, which was incredibly delicious. The Mam here is tasty, and the grilled chicken is also delicious. If you come to Kalasin, don’t miss this shop. It’s located right next to the Kalasin bus station. Locals all know it. It’s a simple shop but the taste is extraordinary. Pa Tan’s Mam in Kalasin. I was also impressed by the people here. I took a tuk-tuk without asking the price.
Actually, I did ask, but the driver went off-route several times because he couldn’t find the shop. He charged a very reasonable price, not exploiting tourists like in some provinces I’ve visited. It was just 100 baht for a short ride. Another time, I asked a young man for directions to the night market, and he rode his motorcycle to take me there. This is the kindness of Kalasin people that Mr.Hotsia applauds. Kalasin province also has districts farther out with Phu Thai people where I must stay in a homestay.
There is also a dinosaur park, but I prefer lifestyle tourism and local food. I definitely plan to return, but will bring a car and travel, staying overnight in each district.
