Snorkeling to See Sharks at Koh Tao: An Unforgettable Experience by mr.hotsia

Koh Tao, Surat Thani Province, is a small island famous worldwide in the diving community. On my latest trip here, I, mr.hotsia, had the chance to snorkel closely with sharks, an experience both thrilling and impressive that I want to share with everyone.

Koh Tao is not only known for its turquoise sea and beautiful coral reefs but also as home to small sharks that can be clearly seen without deep diving equipment. Most sharks here are Blacktip Reef Sharks, which are calm and harmless to humans. I never thought I would swim so close to sharks in the wild like this before.

That morning, I started from the main pier of Koh Tao, bustling with tourists from various countries. I rented a mask and snorkel from a local shop at a fair price before taking a long-tail boat to popular snorkeling spots like Sai Nuan Beach and Mae Haad Bay. The water here was so clear that I could see the underwater world vividly. Colorful corals and schools of fish welcomed me energetically.

Soon, small sharks began to appear, swimming around the coral reefs without fear of tourists. I moved slowly to avoid startling them and stayed still, snorkeling alongside the sharks passing nearby. It felt like being truly part of nature here.

After snorkeling, I took a walk through the Koh Tao village, where the local lifestyle remains simple and warm. A small fresh market by the roadside was full of seafood caught that morning. It was here that I tasted delicious fresh seafood, reminding me of the Surat Thani morning market I had visited before.Fresh Seafood at Surat Thani Morning MarketEqually famous

Besides sharks, Koh Tao has many other charms to explore, including hiking to viewpoints with panoramic views of the Gulf of Thailand or taking boats to dive spots with equally rich marine life.

For those visiting Koh Tao, I recommend staying at a peaceful resort such asNang Yuan Island Resort on Nang Yuan Islandwhich is nearby and offers high privacy, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of big cities.

And if you are a foodie like me, don’t forget to try local Koh Tao dishes such asSpicy Fried Fish Skin, a traditional Koh Tao dishwhich is flavorful and made from fresh seafood ingredients. Not only is it delicious, but it also recharges your energy after exciting snorkeling activities.

During my shark snorkeling, I recorded photos and videos on my personal YouTube channel so everyone can clearly see the beauty of Koh Tao’s underwater world.Snorkeling to See Sharks at Koh Taois a video I am proud to present because it truly conveys the excitement and beauty I experienced.

Finally, I believe that snorkeling to see sharks at Koh Tao is not just ordinary tourism but a close encounter with nature, understanding the richness of Thailand’s seas, and seeing how vibrant and amazing our marine environment is.

If anyone is looking for a destination that offers more than just typical beauty, Koh Tao and snorkeling to see sharks is the answer I, mr.hotsia, sincerely recommend.
