Feeding giant gouramis and bottle-feeding carp at Oasis Seaworld Chanthaburi while lost on the way to the fruit orchard

For me, mr.hotsia, the word “lost” is not always something to fear. Especially if you get lost in Chanthaburi province, filled with the freshness of nature, mountain views, and the fragrant scent of ripe fruit orchards like this. It becomes an incredibly fulfilling travel experience.

This time, I intended to visit the famous fruit orchards in Chanthaburi. But while driving according to GPS, I encountered winding roads and non-standard signposts, which caused me to get “lost” into small alleys along the way. However, what I found on the way made me smile non-stop because I stopped at “Oasis Seaworld,” a small freshwater aquarium and tourist spot located in Mueang Chanthaburi district.

Oasis Seaworld is a perfect rest stop for those wanting to recharge and change the atmosphere from driving. Especially for anyone who loves aquatic animals or wants to experience giant gouramis and carp in a shady natural environment. Here, there is a large giant gourami pond where visitors can feed the fish by hand up close.

The giant gouramis here are so big that I, mr.hotsia, had to raise my hand high to toss food into the pond. These fish have wide mouths and seem to know when food is coming, swimming quickly to swarm and excitedly leaping out of the water. Feeding giant gouramis like this is a rare experience in big cities and deeply connects you with nature.

At Oasis Seaworld, there is also a carp bottle-feeding zone, another highlight I didn’t want to miss. The carp here are large and healthy, with beautiful colors in various patterns that I had only seen in books or museums before. Holding the bottle to feed these fish gave me a heartwarming and relaxing feeling, like being a child again playing with a favorite pet.

While sitting and feeding the carp, I looked around and saw that this place is full of large trees and the sound of flowing water from the pond, creating an atmosphere that feels like escaping the hustle and bustle of the big city. When I visited, the atmosphere was quite peaceful with few tourists, making it ideal for those seeking a quiet spot to relax while truly learning about and experiencing nature.

After spending some time at Oasis Seaworld, I decided to continue my journey to the fruit orchards as planned. Along the way, I saw the local villagers’ way of life, who diligently cultivate fruits such as durian, rambutan, mangosteen, and longkong—famous fruits of Chanthaburi. This land is not only known for its sea or coastline but is also rich with diverse and abundant fruit orchards.

For those interested in exploring Chanthaburi deeply, I recommend stopping byBan Pakkard Checkpointwhere I once experienced the atmosphere of the Thai-Cambodian border market. That atmosphere helps better understand the lifestyle and culture of people on both sides of the border. Moreover, the route from Ban Pakkard Checkpoint to Chanthaburi city has recently been improved, making travel more convenient and the views more beautiful.

For those who love aquatic animals and want to see cute shows, I have recommended this same place in an articleWatch the adorable pink dolphin show at Oasis Seaworld Chanthaburiwhich is another experience not to be missed on your Chanthaburi trip.

When talking about Chanthaburi, I, mr.hotsia, often think of the variety of attractions—beaches, fruit orchards, local markets, and natural tourist spots like Oasis Seaworld—that make every journey full of unique stories and wonderful memories.

If you have the chance, don’t forget to stop by to feed the giant gouramis and bottle-feed the carp at Oasis Seaworld, then let the slow pace here recharge you before heading out to fully explore Chanthaburi’s fruit orchards. I guarantee this lost moment will become one of the great memories you’ll share for a long time.
