hotsia kids school break trip 10/26: Hue Danang Hoi An with mr.hotsia

This school break, mr.hotsia takes kids and families on a journey to Central Vietnam, a region that perfectly blends natural charm and culture, including Hue, Danang, and Hoi An. Each city has its own unique character and distinct attractions. This trip is not just an ordinary tour but an experience full of stories about local life, traditional food, and a warm atmosphere ideal for kids eager to explore the wider world.

Starting in Danang, the city of beaches and freshness

My family and I chose Danang as our main base for this trip because the city offers both beautiful beaches and the conveniences of a big city. Danang is located on the eastern coast of Vietnam, featuring long stretches of white sandy beaches, clear sea water, and cool sea breezes—perfect for kids who want to swim or safely play along the shore.

This time I stayed ata seaside hotel with beautiful views in Danangwhich is a great choice for families. The room rates are reasonable, with twin rooms offering full sea views. The kids woke up early to watch the sunrise accompanied by the gentle sound of waves crashing on the shore.

One morning, I went for a walk along the beach and saw local fishermen pulling nets to catch small fish and squid during high tide. I really enjoyed this atmosphere because it showed the real life of Danang people, not just a typical tourist city. The kids learned and asked me about the fishermen’s methods, which was a rare experience for city kids like them.

Vietnamese food in Danang: Freshness and rich flavors

For meals, Danang offers a wide variety of fresh seafood. My family and I triedVietnamese grilled button squidat a beachside restaurant. The flavor was sweet and tender, served with a Vietnamese dipping sauce that was sweet, sour, and slightly spicy. It was so delicious that the kids asked for seconds. I also enjoyedVietnamese chicken biryaniwhich had a fragrant and mild spice aroma, perfect for those wanting to try something new but not too spicy. The clips of grilled button squidandVietnamese chicken biryanithat I recorded will help give a better sense of the atmosphere.

For the kids, I chose Vietnamese dishes that were not too spicy and used fresh ingredients like fresh vegetables and noodles. After trying them, they really liked the food. Besides enjoying delicious meals, it was also a great opportunity for the kids to learn about food culture through real taste experiences.

Convenient travel with transport stations in Vietnam

Traveling from other cities to Danang is easier than you might think. I have previously written aboutDalat Bus Stationwhich is a great option if you plan to travel from Dalat to Danang by air-conditioned bus. It is convenient and safe, especially when traveling with young children, so you don’t have to worry much about the journey.

Danang itself has a good transport system, including taxis and motorbike taxis that I often use for short trips such as going to markets or tourist areas. This convenient transportation made my family trip smooth and uninterrupted.

Hoi An, a charming UNESCO World Heritage ancient town

One of the highlights of this trip was taking the kids to visit Hoi An, an old town registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walking along the old streets, ancient wooden buildings, and canal-side shops that preserve traditional architecture brought us to a peaceful and uniquely beautiful atmosphere.

The kids were excited to ride boats along the canals and try making the famous Hoi An paper lanterns. We strolled through the bustling central market filled with handmade souvenirs and tasted colorful, sweet, and fragrant local snacks. This made learning about Vietnamese culture through hands-on experiences fun and memorable.

Hue, an ancient city full of history

Before returning, our trip also stopped in Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam, full of important historical sites such as the Imperial Palace. The kids and I walked around and learned about Vietnamese history through the local guide’s narration.

Hue also has local markets where I took the kids to explore fresh produce and diverse local foods. The lively yet friendly market atmosphere gave us a real sense of everyday life in Vietnam.

Impressions and advice from mr.hotsia

This trip with my family and kids made me feel that Central Vietnam is truly a perfect destination for a school break trip. Whether it’s the beautiful nature, delicious food, or rich culture, everything blends harmoniously and warmly.

For anyone planning to visit Danang, don’t forget to try staying by the sea as I recommended ina seaside hotel with beautiful views in Danangand if you have time, try visiting the cool city of Dalat as well (Traveling in the cool city) where you can experience a cool atmosphere and local dishes likeBún Riêuwhich is uniquely delicious.

Finally, mr.hotsia would like to say that traveling with kids is most important for spending time together and giving them opportunities to learn through real experiences. Don’t be afraid to try and explore new paths because that is the true charm of traveling.
