My journey started from Hanoi. I took a bus from the terminal to Ha Long, which took about 3-4 hours. Upon arrival in Ha Long, I stayed one night to rest, then the next morning I hired a taxi to the ferry pier to continue to Cat Ba Island, the largest island in Ha Long Bay, covering nearly 200 square kilometers.Cat Ba IslandIt differs from the smaller surrounding islands because it has both flatlands and steep limestone mountains, offering diversity for tourists who want to fully experience nature.

I must say that traveling during Vietnam's long holidays like National Day causes prices to soar. The bus fare from Hanoi, normally about 15 baht, rises to 120 baht. Accommodation prices on Cat Ba Island also triple. Accommodation and Seafood on Cat Ba Island

Most accommodations on the island are located along the narrow flat beachfront, with the rest being steep limestone mountains. Budget lodging is very affordable at about 10-15 USD per night. Even on holidays, rooms are easy to find without worry about full occupancy.

It offers a variety of fresh shrimp, shellfish, crabs, and fish, including giant squid crawling in tanks, creating a very impressive scene. From my experience, this is one of the freshest and most lively seafood markets in Vietnam.
