The Healthy City Bac Kan Vietnam

I, mr.hotsia, recently had the chance to experience Bac Kan in northern Vietnam. This city is not just an ordinary destination but a place with a healthy atmosphere and rare tranquility in this era. Bac Kan is located in mountainous and lush forest areas, with fresh and cool air all year round, reminding me of Lang Son Province that I visited before (Lang Son Province, Vietnam) which also has mountainous terrain and a rich rural atmosphere.

Traveling to Bac Kan is not easy. If you are a true adventure traveler, you must prepare and plan carefully because transportation is not as convenient as in big cities. But once you arrive, every step along the winding mountain roads allows you to truly experience the simple lifestyle and warm hospitality of the locals.

The atmosphere in Bac Kan is not crowded with foreign tourists, making me feel like I discovered a new side of northern Vietnam that is still largely untouched. People here welcome visitors with smiles and sincerity. Small shops along the streets are full of local foods that carry the distinctive flavor of local culture, such as grilled sticky rice with pork, refreshing herbal drinks with health benefits, and mountain-grown local vegetables.

For me, who loves visiting local markets, stopping by the Bac Kan market is an experience not to be missed. The market is not as large as in big cities but is full of fresh produce and a variety of local goods. I tasted rare seasonal fruits and also found grilled button squid, a specialty of northern Vietnam, fresh and richly flavored. If you like seafood, I recommend watching the videoVietnamese Grilled Button Squidthat I recorded before to see clearer images.

I stayed at a small guesthouse in Bac Kan city whose owner is a kind local who provided great advice on tourist spots and delicious food around the city. It was quiet and perfect for those who want to truly relax away from the hustle of big cities, similar to when I stayed at Hoang Son Hotel in Lang Son city mentioned earlier (Lang Son Province, Vietnam) which is affordable and conveniently located near markets and tourist attractions.

What impressed me most about Bac Kan was its natural environment and pure air. I walked around a small city lake, listened to birdsong, and felt the cool breeze through the leaves. Everything seemed to say that this is truly a city of health, much like Dalat city with its Buddhist temples and beautiful nature in central Vietnam (Buddhist Temple in Dalat City) but Bac Kan has a quiet charm and nature that preserves the rawness of the local area completely.

For travelers coming from outside, I recommend preparing a Vietnamese 3G or 4G internet SIM card for convenience (Vietnam 3G Internet SIM) because coverage here is still limited. Internet access will greatly help with travel planning and communication.

Regarding food, Bac Kan offers many interesting local dishes. I tried Vietnamese-style chicken biryani with fragrant spices and tender juicy meat. I also watched a video I recorded about Vietnamese chicken biryani (Vietnamese Chicken Biryani) to whet my appetite even more.

If you enjoy deep travel experiences, learning about local lifestyles and cultures, and want to experience nature and fresh air, Bac Kan is the answer you should not miss. I, mr.hotsia, believe this place will offer you a different perspective of northern Vietnam from the usual main tourist spots.

Finally, if you are interested in traveling through the mountains and countryside of northern Vietnam, I highly recommend adding Bac Kan to your list. And if you have the chance, don't forget to visitLang Son Provincenearby to compare the atmosphere and culture, which are different but charming in their own way.
