Dong Hoi coffee

When talking about Vietnamese coffee, many might think of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. But for me, mr.hotsia, experiencing coffee in Dong Hoi gives a different and equally impressive feeling. Dong Hoi is located on the banks of the Mekong River in central Vietnam. It is a city not crowded with tourists, making the coffee sipping atmosphere peaceful and truly full of local charm.

I arrived in Dong Hoi in the late afternoon after crossing Lang Son province, which I have written about previously.Lang Son Province, VietnamNot far away, Dong Hoi is another city where I wanted to try the local coffee, said to be strong and uniquely distinctive.

Coffee shops in Dong Hoi are not as fancy as in big cities, but the small shop I chose had old wooden tables and small chairs that felt cozy. The surrounding atmosphere included the sounds of people passing by and the aroma of coffee slowly blending with the steam rising from the cup in front of me.

Most Vietnamese coffee here is served as drip coffee (cà phê phin) using a traditional metal filter. The coffee slowly drips into a glass with sweetened condensed milk at the bottom. The taste is sweet, creamy, and strong. Each sip reminded me of the delicacy and care Vietnamese people put into making coffee.

Besides hot coffee, I also tried Vietnamese iced coffee (cà phê sữa đá), mixed with ice and sweetened condensed milk. The sweetness and creaminess of the milk perfectly balance the coffee's intensity, ideal for Dong Hoi's hot and humid afternoon weather.

What I liked most was sitting and watching the lives of people passing by in this small coffee shop. Everyone seemed to have their own story, whether workers, students, or elderly people slowly sipping coffee on a day off. It was a scene full of simplicity and warmth rarely found in big cities.

For those interested in trying Vietnamese coffee in the authentic atmosphere of Dong Hoi, I recommend strolling around the town in the morning or late afternoon and stopping by a local coffee shop with traditional coffee filters to fully experience the taste and aroma here.

If you want to combine nature and culture sightseeing, I have written about a peaceful and beautiful Buddhist temple in Dalat city, which you can read more about atBuddhist Temple in DalatOr if you enjoy relaxing seaside trips, I recommend Nha Trang sea beach with its beautiful beaches and various activities. Details can be found atNha Trang sea beach

I, mr.hotsia, want to say that Vietnamese coffee in Dong Hoi is not just a drink but an experience that lets you truly connect with the lifestyle of locals in this small town. For those who love strong coffee and a slow, peaceful atmosphere, Dong Hoi is the answer you shouldn't miss.

If you are planning a trip, don't forget to prepare a Vietnam 3G internet SIM for convenient communication and information searching atVietnam 3G Internet SIMAnd for accommodation in Vietnam, I have recommended a small hotel with a cozy atmosphere in Viet Tri city.
