Eating McDonald Ho Chi Minh

When talking about Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, one thing Mr.Hotsia must say is that besides the diverse and unforgettable local food, sometimes stopping by McDonald's also becomes an equally interesting experience. On this trip, I had the chance to visit Ho Chi Minh and step into a McDonald's there to see how the taste and atmosphere differ from other places.

The McDonald's in this city is located in the heart of the business and shopping district, allowing me to see a variety of people, including tourists and locals using the service. I noticed the restaurant is spacious and decorated in a modern style but still maintains a simple friendly vibe like elsewhere. A clear difference is the special menu adapted to Vietnamese tastes, such as the grilled pork burger with barbecue sauce, which you can only find here.

For Mr.Hotsia, eating McDonald's while traveling abroad doesn't mean just sticking to the basic menu because here there are many interesting options. I tried ordering the “Vietnamese Grilled Pork McBurger,” whose sauce flavor and pork aroma made it an instant favorite. There were also hot French fries, crispy outside and soft inside, perfect for a snack while resting from city sightseeing.

The atmosphere inside this Ho Chi Minh McDonald's also feels relaxing, suitable for those wanting to chill on a hot and humid day in southern Vietnam. When I visited, the weather was quite hot, similar to what I experienced inLang Son Provincewhere I have been. Although in a different region, this hot and humid atmosphere is normal in Vietnam from May to August.

One of Mr.Hotsia's impressions was seeing the diversity of people buying McDonald's — groups of teenagers, foreigners stopping by for a break, and workers buying takeout. I spent time watching people and thinking about how this global fast-food brand has unquestionably become part of life in Ho Chi Minh.

Additionally, I tried ordering the signature Vietnamese drink at McDonald's there, the “Vietnamese Green Tea,” which has a sweet and slightly sour taste and is very refreshing. Amid the heat of this big city, sipping a cold drink with a local-flavored burger is a perfect combination that Mr.Hotsia highly recommends friends try.

If anyone wants to experience the atmosphere of McDonald's in southern Vietnam like me, I recommend stopping by to try the special local menu items that are usually not available in other countries and observe the lifestyle of the city’s people through this seemingly ordinary but unique fast-food restaurant.

For those interested in more Vietnam travel trips, Mr.Hotsia has written reviews aboutVinh Long Bus Stationwhich is an important transfer point in southern Vietnam, as well asNha Trang Seawhich has beautiful beaches and many attractions, along with the delicious local food I have tasted.

Finally, eating McDonald's in Ho Chi Minh may seem simple, but for Mr.Hotsia, it is a way to experience city life from a different perspective and is another experience I want to keep in my travel journal.
