Ha Tinh Province, Vietnam: The undiscovered gateway to Central Vietnam
I, mr.hotsia, had the chance to arrive at Ha Tinh Province in Vietnam, a province that Thai people may not be very familiar with. But for me, who loves to travel and discover the hidden charms of each place, Ha Tinh became a surprisingly impressive destination. This province is located in central Vietnam, with a long coastline and nature that remains well preserved. In this trip, I want to share my genuine feelings and experiences from the field.
Travel and Atmosphere in Ha Tinh Province
Getting to Ha Tinh is not very difficult. I chose to take a bus from Lang Son city, a province in northern Vietnam that I have previously written about inLang Son Province, VietnamPreviously, the bus took about 5 hours to reach Ha Tinh city. Along the way, I saw views of mountains and lush green rice fields alternating with small villages that still clearly maintain their traditional way of life.
Ha Tinh Province is not as busy as big cities. The atmosphere here feels peaceful and simple. The people are friendly and warmly welcome tourists. I stayed in a small accommodation closely managed by the owner, perfect for travelers who want to truly experience local life.
Local Food: Flavors That Still Impress Me
When it comes to Vietnam, food is one of the charms I never miss. In Ha Tinh, I tried many signature dishes found in local markets and restaurants. One dish that impressed me was “Grilled Button Squid,” which has a sweet and delicious seafood flavor served with a special local dipping sauce. The taste is spicy yet balanced, eaten with hot sticky rice, truly fulfilling the joy of eating. (Watch the grilled button squid video athere)
Additionally, I also tasted Vietnamese-style chicken biryani in Ha Tinh, which is different from what I have had in northern or southern Vietnam. It has fragrant spices and very tender chicken. I highly recommend everyone to try it if you pass this way. (Watch the Vietnamese chicken biryani video atthis link)
Local Markets and Daily Life
Walking through the markets in Ha Tinh was something I really enjoyed. The markets here are not very large but full of fresh and dried goods, including local vegetables, fruits, and freshly caught seafood. I talked with the vendors and found that most of them live simple lives but are happy with what they do. The market here is like the heart of the community, something hard to find in big cities.
If anyone has followed me before, you might recall the lifestyle in other Vietnamese provinces like Lang Son that I have written about inprevious articlesor even the coffee shops in Phan Rang that I have visitedavailable hereHa Tinh shares similarities in terms of naturalness and the warmth of the locals.
Must-Visit Attractions in Ha Tinh
Although Ha Tinh does not have nationally famous tourist spots like Da Lat or Nha Trang, it has its own charm. I visited beaches that remain quiet and peaceful, unlike the crowded Nha Trang where I once stayed to relax.Nha Trang Sea BeachThere, it is crowded with many luxury resorts, while Ha Tinh still maintains its naturalness and tranquility well.
Additionally, there are local temples and shrines that reflect the culture and beliefs of central Vietnamese people. I visited and deeply felt the faith, similar to visiting Buddhist temples in Da Lat that I have written about inthis articlewhich helped me understand Vietnam's cultural diversity more.
Travel Tips
For those interested in visiting Ha Tinh, I recommend preparing well for transportation because this province still lacks many airports or train services. Taking a bus or renting a motorbike is a good option to travel and explore around the province.
Also, don't forget to prepare an internet SIM card for convenient communication. In Vietnam, I have recommendedVietnam 3G Internet SIMwhich helped me stay connected online all the time.
Finally, Ha Tinh Province may not yet be well known among foreign tourists, but for those who love deep travel and want to experience the real Vietnamese lifestyle, I think this place is a must-visit.
Summary of Impressions from mr.hotsia

I, mr.hotsia, was impressed by tasting fresh and delicious seafood, the simple yet charming local lifestyle, and truly beautiful natural scenery. This trip is another experience I want to recommend to all fellow travelers to open their hearts and experience it themselves.
