Hotels Mr. Hotsia Stayed at in Hoi An: Small accommodations full of charm
When talking about Hoi An, the UNESCO World Heritage city in Vietnam filled with the charm of ancient architecture, pedestrian streets, and beautiful lantern lights, I, mr.hotsia, must admit that choosing a hotel in Hoi An greatly influenced my impression of this trip. This time, I chose to stay at a small hotel that wasn’t luxurious or grand but gave a warm feeling like a second home abroad.
The hotel I stayed at is not far from the heart of Hoi An city, just a few minutes’ walk to the night market and the Thu Bon River. Here, I truly experienced the local atmosphere. On the first day of the trip, I took a walk around the hotel and found a street food stall selling grilled button squid, one of my favorite dishes in Vietnam (if interested in must-try Vietnamese food, click to seeVietnamese Grilled Button Squid)
The rooms here are not very spacious but clean and equipped with basic amenities. There is hot water and internet that is adequate (though not very fast, it’s enough for checking information and contacting family). I was impressed by the quietness of the accommodation compared to the lively city at night. After exploring the morning market and pedestrian street until tired, returning to a peaceful room helped recharge my energy very well.
Experience Hoi An’s Life and Culture from Your Accommodation
Another advantage of this hotel is its location. Just a few minutes’ walk to the fresh market where locals shop for daily fresh goods. I tried walking the market in the morning to find Vietnamese-style breakfast like chicken biryani at a street stall, which had a perfectly balanced spicy and aromatic flavor (if you want to see how it’s made and taste it, check out the clipVietnamese Chicken Biryani)
In the evening, I enjoyed walking along the nearby Thu Bon River. The cool breeze and soft orange lantern lights made me feel like stepping into an ancient movie scene telling the story of Hoi An. There are also several small coffee shops open late. I often sipped strong Vietnamese coffee here before going to bed.
Connecting to Travel in Northern Vietnam
From Hoi An, I planned to continue traveling to nearby provinces such asLang Son Provincewhere I stayed at Hoang Son hotel located in the center of Lang Son city. It was very easy to walk to the market and find food. Traveling between these cities is convenient and allowed me to see clear differences in lifestyles and landscapes in each province.
Staying in Hoi An is not just temporary accommodation but a gateway to truly learning about the culture and lifestyle of the people in Central Vietnam. I, mr.hotsia, recommend everyone visiting Hoi An to choose accommodations close to the community like this to fully experience the sincerity and warmth of the locals.
Tips for Traveling in Hoi An like mr.hotsia
Before traveling, I recommend preparing a Vietnamese 3G internet SIM card to use for searching information and communication throughout the trip, which I have detailed in an articleVietnamese 3G Internet SIMfor travel convenience.
Also, prepare comfortable walking shoes because some alleys in Hoi An still have small stones, and walking at night lets you fully enjoy the atmosphere. But if tired, you can use motorcycle taxis or regular taxis which are not very expensive.
Choosing a small accommodation with owner care like where I stayed will give you great travel and local food recommendations. From my experience, I got to know the lovely owner who told me about must-try restaurants and unmissable activities in Hoi An, making this trip complete with wonderful memories.
Summary of mr.hotsia’s Impressions
