hotsia kids School Holiday Trip 14/26: Strolling in Hoi An, Buying Souvenirs, and Enjoying Fish Noodles

Hello, I am mr.hotsia with this school holiday trip in Vietnam. Let me tell you honestly from the field. Today, I took the kids to Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage city loved by many tourists because of its ancient atmosphere combined perfectly with the charming local lifestyle. This makes Hoi An an ideal destination for families who want to travel for fun and learning at the same time.

One morning in Hoi An, my family and I took a walk in the old town filled with narrow alleys and various shops, from handmade souvenir stores to local restaurants by the river. The stone-paved walkways made us feel like we traveled back in time. The kids were excited by the colorful lanterns hanging along the streets, like walking inside a movie scene.

Here, mr.hotsia recommends trying shopping for souvenirs at the small local market full of Vietnamese handicrafts such as embroidered fabrics, woven bags, and unique jewelry. The kids had fun picking small gifts to take home. A special treat for families with young children is visiting traditional Vietnamese sweet shops offering mango sticky rice and mung bean desserts, mildly sweet and perfect for kids.

After enjoying the walk, I took my family to taste fish noodles, one of Hoi An’s signature dishes. The restaurant mr.hotsia chose is not far from the old town area. The simple atmosphere is filled with warmth from the owner who cooks with heart. The fish noodle soup here is served with fragrant, well-balanced broth, firm fresh fish with no fishy smell at all, and noodles that are perfectly chewy. The kids enjoyed it so much they asked for another bowl.

Traveling to Hoi An is very convenient. I have also had the chance to visit other tourist spots in Vietnam, such as Lang Son Province,a border town adjacent to China, which features beautiful mountain landscapes and natural attractions. I have also visited Dalat city with its beautiful Buddhist temple,Truc Lam Temple, located on a mountain amid a peaceful atmosphere. If you continue traveling south, you can stop by the market or use the Vinh Long bus station,an important connection point in the Mekong Delta region,as well.

Hoi An is very suitable as a stopover during travels in Vietnam because besides its beautiful ancient atmosphere, it also offers delicious food that impressed my family deeply. I believe everyone will truly experience the cultural essence here. This city is not just a tourist spot but a place where you can closely experience the lifestyle and warmth of the people.

For anyone planning a family trip to Vietnam during the school holidays, mr.hotsia recommends trying Hoi An at least once. Take a leisurely stroll, buy souvenirs you like, and don’t forget to fully enjoy the delicious local fish noodles. I guarantee this experience will become a wonderful memory for everyone in your family.
