I, mr.hotsia, had the chance to visit Qui Nhon, a peaceful seaside city that still maintains its identity in Binh Dinh province, Vietnam. On this visit, my main goal was to explore the Qui Nhon morning market, one of the markets that clearly and interestingly reflects the authentic Vietnamese way of life much more than I expected.

The Qui Nhon morning market is not large or modern like the morning markets I have seen in big cities such as Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi. But here, it is a source of fresh produce that locals and vendors bring to sell in a simple atmosphere. The scent of fresh seafood mixed with Vietnamese spices and herbs greeted me from the first step I took inside. The market is located in the city center, easy to reach, close to the main accommodation area and the city's main roads.

In the morning, the market is especially lively. Locals come to buy fresh ingredients to prepare meals for the day. The walkways are lined with stalls selling seasonal fruits, fresh green vegetables, and a variety of seafood including fresh squid, sea fish, shrimp, and shellfish caught early that morning. Besides fresh produce, the market also offers local food to taste, like small eateries inside the market. There are dishes ranging from Vietnamese chicken biryani that makes your mouth water to baguettes filled with grilled pork and fresh spicy vegetables. For me, tasting breakfast at a morning market like this is a true gateway to Vietnamese culture. The lifestyle here is very interesting. You can see people chatting warmly as if they have known each other for a long time. It’s not just about buying and selling but also a morning social gathering, helping each other choose good ingredients and giving advice on recipes. I spoke with a vendor selling fresh vegetables who said this market is the heart of the community in Qui Nhon because everyone here still lives simply and relies on one another.

Traveling to Qui Nhon is convenient with bus and taxi services from nearby major cities. Although the development may not match other famous tourist cities, the atmosphere here reminded me of the peace and naturalness that is rare nowadays.
