Experience the charm of Sầm Sơn, the Vietnam sea in Thanh Hóa Province
Hello, I am mr.hotsia. Today, I will take everyone on a journey to another peaceful and bright corner of Northern Vietnam atSầm Sơna seaside beach located in Thanh Hóa Province, which, although not as well-known as Nha Trang Beach or other famous cities, has a unique charm that deeply impressed me.
My first arrival at Sầm Sơn was a feeling mixed between the bustling local fishing community and the natural beauty of the seaside that remains completely authentic. The small town by the beach has a walking street along the coast filled with fresh seafood restaurants, fresh markets, and local shops selling snacks such as large grilled button squid that I tried from a street vendor. The aroma of spices and the sweetness of the grilled squid reminded me of the atmosphere of food markets in Northern Vietnam that I had experienced before.
Lifestyle and Fresh Seafood of Sầm Sơn Locals
I, mr.hotsia, strolled from early morning to see the fish and fresh seafood market, where local fishermen actively sell shrimp, crab, squid, and various kinds of fish. The prices are affordable and the quality is excellent. I recommend trying the grilled button squid here, which is a signature dish of Sầm Sơn. Additionally, there is Vietnamese-style chicken biryani with rich flavors. I have documented my experience eating Vietnamese chicken biryani inthis clipIf interested, please watch it along with this.
The seaside atmosphere at Sầm Sơn is friendly and warm. I spent time sipping local coffee at a small shop by the beach, listening to the waves and watching locals shop. If you have ever enjoyed the market atmosphere and lifestyle in Lạng Sơn Province,Lạng Sơn Province, Vietnamwhich I have previously shared, you will feel a similarity in the warmth of the community and the simplicity of life.
Seaside Activities and Traveling to Sầm Sơn
The beach here stretches over 6 kilometers, with clear water and gentle waves, suitable for swimming and relaxing by the shore. I recommend walking in the evening to watch the beautiful, unspoiled sunset here, which is different from the more modern and lively atmosphere of Nha Trang Beach.Nha Trang Sea Beachwhere I have stayed before
Traveling to Sầm Sơn is convenient, with buses and vans from many major cities in Northern Vietnam such as Hanoi, taking about 3-4 hours. The roads are good and the scenery along the way is beautiful. I, mr.hotsia, recommend booking accommodation in advance, especially during festivals or long holidays, as this place is becoming popular among Vietnamese and international tourists.
Accommodation and Living in Sầm Sơn
Accommodation in Sầm Sơn ranges from medium-sized hotels to budget guesthouses. I once stayed at a small hotel with very friendly owners, offering hot water and fairly stable internet, which helped me plan my next trips conveniently. If you are interested in a simple and community-close atmosphere, you can find guesthouses similar to where I stayed inViet Tri Cityfor sure.
Besides relaxing by the sea, I also traveled to visit temples and sacred places in nearby provinces, such as Buddhist temples in Dalat City, which are beautiful and peaceful, suitable for those who love culture and the tranquility of religion.Buddhist Temples in Dalat Citythat I have visited and highly recommend.
