Mr. Hotsia takes a trip to Doi Pha Tang to find cherry blossoms before going to Vietnam Full clip
Hello dear readers, mr.hotsia is back with travel experiences to share once again. This time, I had the chance to travel north to Doi Pha Tang in Chiang Rai Province, my destination to find Thailand's cherry blossoms before continuing on to Vietnam. This was a way to prepare and open my mind for the new atmosphere awaiting ahead.
Doi Pha Tang is a mountain about 1,600 meters above sea level, located near the borders of Laos and Vietnam. It is famous for its sea of mist in the early morning and cherry blossoms blooming from late year to early year. I didn't miss capturing beautiful scenes and atmosphere in the video.Mr. Hotsia takes a trip to Doi Pha Tang to find cherry blossoms before going to Vietnam Full clipFor everyone to enjoy
The atmosphere on Doi Pha Tang is very peaceful and refreshing. Cool air blows through the leaves and blooming flowers. I traveled there in early year when the cherry blossoms were fully blooming with soft pink colors blending with lush green trees, making me feel like I was in Japan without having to fly far. Besides cherry blossoms, locals also grow corn and various vegetables. We got to see the simple lifestyle of the Karen and Hmong hill tribes here.
After spending time enjoying nature and taking plenty of photos, mr.hotsia continued the journey to Vietnam immediately because the travel charm there is equally attractive, especially Lang Son Province which I have written about previously in an article.Lang Son Province, VietnamThis is a great starting point for exploring northern Vietnam.
Lang Son: A border town full of mountain charm and culture
Lang Son Province is located near the Chinese border, featuring steep mountains and pristine nature. I stayed at Hoang Son Hotel in Lang Son city, which was affordable and very convenient for travelers like me. The hotel is in the city center, within easy walking distance to the fresh market and local restaurants.
What impressed me most was the town's atmosphere blending nature and local culture. I walked through the morning market where locals sold fresh fruits, vegetables, and traditional foods. The lively atmosphere and the aroma of traditional Vietnamese cuisine made me hungry right away.
If anyone is interested in learning more about this town, I recommend reading the articleLang Son Province, Vietnamthat I wrote before, which provides a clearer overview and travel tips.
Northern Vietnam: Dalat city and its peaceful Buddhist temple
After Lang Son, I had the chance to visit Dalat city in Lam Dong Province, known for its cool climate and beautiful nature. I visited Truc Lam Temple, a Zen Buddhist temple located on Phoenix Mountain north, next to Tuyen Lam Lake.
The atmosphere at Truc Lam Temple is peaceful, perfect for meditation or leisurely walks around the temple. The red-tiled roofs contrast with dark green pine trees, and there is a tall bell tower visible from afar. I took the cable car up to the temple, which was affordable and offered beautiful views along the way.
For friends interested in temples or religion in Vietnam, I recommend the articleBuddhist Temples in Dalatthat I wrote earlier, which includes detailed information and beautiful photos.
Vietnamese Food: Captivated by the flavors and local dishes
But a trip to Vietnam is incomplete without trying the food. The cuisine here is diverse and flavorful. I tried the popular street food Vietnamese grilled button squid, which has a strong spicy aroma and fresh, crispy squid meat. Watch the clip of me eating it atVietnamese Grilled Button Squidright there.
Another favorite dish of mine is Vietnamese chicken biryani, which tastes great and has a perfect portion size, ideal for lunch or a light dinner. I also have a clip of me eating chicken biryani atVietnamese Chicken BiryaniI really want everyone to try these dishes when visiting.
Travel tips from mr.hotsia
For traveling in northern Vietnam, I recommend preparing a 3G internet SIM card for convenience in searching information and communication. I have written a guide in the articleVietnam 3G Internet SIMwhich will help everyone use their devices more smoothly.
If you have more time, I suggest stopping by Vinh Long bus station, a major transport hub in southern Vietnam. I have used this station to travel to various cities and found the transportation much more convenient. Read more details atVinh Long bus station
