Atmosphere of Boat Ride Through Phong Nha Cave, Vietnam
When it comes to adventures in Northern Vietnam that impressed me, mr.hotsia, one experience I must share is the boat ride through Phong Nha Cave, located in an area less known compared to other major tourist attractions in Vietnam. But believe me, the atmosphere and natural beauty here are beyond description.
I arrived at a small riverside pier near Phong Nha Cave early in the morning. The weather was cool and comfortable, the clear river water reflected the soft sunlight filtering through light mist. The peaceful atmosphere was so quiet that I could almost hear only the sound of flowing water and birdsong before the boat moved off the shore.
The boat I rode was a small wooden boat rowed by a local villager very skilled with the route. Riding the boat along the winding river into the mouth of Phong Nha Cave felt like stepping back into pure nature. The cave walls were steep and filled with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, like natural artworks remaining in only a few places in the world.
The special feature of Phong Nha Cave is its width and length, allowing boats to enter several kilometers deep. I remember as the boat slowly passed through the darkness inside the cave, the flashlight from the rower helped reveal details of the variously shaped stalactites and stalagmites. Some spots looked like small pyramids, others like ice curtains hanging in the middle of the cave.
The atmosphere inside the cave was both amazing and mysterious. The sound of water hitting the wooden boat and the paddle dipping rhythmically mixed with other natural sounds made me feel like I had entered another world I had never seen before.
After exiting Phong Nha Cave, I had the chance to talk with the local boatman about the cave and the lifestyle of people in the area, which was different from what I had seen in Lang Son city that I visited earlier.Lang Son Province, VietnamKnown for its mountain views and beautiful border town near China, but here the focus is on tranquility and the preserved natural environment.
For anyone interested in experiencing this like me, I recommend preparing waterproof gear and a good camera because the views here are so beautiful you’ll want to capture every angle. Also, choose the right time, avoiding the heavy rainy season when river water levels rise and boating becomes difficult.
Phong Nha Cave is not only about natural beauty but also part of a travel route I, mr.hotsia, recommend combining with visits to other places in Vietnam such asVinh Long Bus Stationor relaxing by the sea atNha Trang SeaEach place has its own charm and unique atmosphere.
Besides sightseeing, I also recommend trying local food at riverside restaurants nearby. The freshness of ingredients and authentic Vietnamese flavors, not too spicy, make the meal a memorable part of the experience.
