Travel to tt Phước An, Krông Pắc District, Đắk Lắk Province, Vietnam with mr.hotsia
This time, I, mr.hotsia, had the opportunity to travel south to Đắk Lắk Province, Vietnam to explore a small village called tt Phước An, located in Krông Pắc District. This is a rural community that clearly preserves a simple and traditional way of life, distinctly different from the big cities I have visited in northern or central Vietnam.
Getting to tt Phước An is not easy because there are no direct buses from big cities. Most travelers must take a bus from Buôn Ma Thuột, the main city of Đắk Lắk Province, then transfer to local transport to enter Krông Pắc District. This journey allowed me to experience the authentic atmosphere of rural Vietnamese life, passing through rice fields and mountains dotted with small villages along the hillsides.
Upon arriving at tt Phước An, I strolled around the village where houses are built of wood with thatched roofs. The atmosphere is very peaceful and natural. Most locals still live by farming, growing crops and raising animals, which contrasts with the hustle of big cities. I spoke with the villagers who were smiling and warmly welcoming tourists, making me feel at home.
One thing that impressed me was the local food. At the small market in tt Phước An, there are simple food stalls using fresh ingredients from gardens and fields, such as grilled sticky rice with pork and fresh vegetables with a mellow flavor and the aroma of southern Vietnamese spices. I also tried Vietnamese-style grilled button squid, which seafood lovers should not miss. (Watch the video of grilled button squid from Vietnam athere)
The lifestyle of tt Phước An villagers reflects a deep connection with nature and local culture. I visited the local morning market and found friendly trading of goods and freshly caught seafood from nearby rivers. The market is not large but full of colors and the aroma of fresh food. There was also an opportunity to see traditional weaving crafts made by the villagers.
If you come to Đắk Lắk, I recommend extending your trip to Buôn Ma Thuột city, the provincial capital, which has a distinctly different atmosphere. There you will find famous southern Vietnamese-style coffee shops as well as interesting museums and cultural attractions. (I have previously written about this province in an articleLạng Sơn Province, Vietnam)
Accommodation in this area is simple and very affordable because there are not many large resorts or hotels like in big cities. I chose to stay at a homestay in the village where the owners were kind and provided great information, allowing me to experience the real lifestyle of the locals and learn authentic local eating culture.
Regarding transportation within Đắk Lắk Province, I recommend renting a motorbike or using local taxi services because some roads in Krông Pắc District are not fully developed. Traveling on your own will be more convenient and flexible.
When comparing tt Phước An with other tourist spots in Vietnam, such as the Buddhist temples in Dalat city that I have written about before,Buddhist Temples in Dalat Cityor the atmosphere of Nha Trang sea beach,Nha Trang Sea Beachyou will see that tt Phước An exemplifies simplicity and tranquility, perfect for those who want to escape the bustle and seek a genuine local experience.
For those planning a trip to Đắk Lắk and Krông Pắc District, I, mr.hotsia, suggest preparing for communication because phone and internet coverage in rural areas is not as good as in big cities. If you want to buy a 3G internet SIM card, you can find more information in the articleVietnam 3G Internet SIMwhich will help you stay connected and find information more conveniently during your trip.
Finally, I would like to share a video from my actual trip to tt Phước An for you to watch, in case anyone wants to see the atmosphere and real images of this village before deciding to visit.Watch the video of tt Phước An, Krông Pắc Đắk Lắk, Vietnam
Traveling to tt Phước An taught me, mr.hotsia, that Vietnam still has many beautiful and peaceful places waiting for travelers who seek deep experiences to truly encounter. Not just beautiful pictures on social media, but real life that remains simple and genuinely warm.
