When talking about Vietnam, many people might think of famous tourist cities like Hanoi, Da Lat, or Nha Trang, but for mr.hotsia, my latest trip took me to experience the raw beauty ofTuyên Quang Provincewhich is still not well known among foreign tourists. But for those who love tranquility, authentic local lifestyles, and unspoiled nature, this place is the perfect answer.

I started my journey from Lang Son city, which I have shared about in a previous article (Lang Son Province Vietnam). Traveling from Lang Son to Tuyên Quang is not easy due to inconvenient roads and limited public transportation, but this trip was a great opportunity to experience rural routes and mountain views that gradually change along the way.

Unique Mountain Charm and Nature

Tuyên Quang is a province located in northeastern Vietnam. Most of the terrain consists of mountains and steep hills, similar to Lang Son province I visited before, but it has its own peacefulness and unique character. Here, I traveled up the mountains to see uniquely beautiful views, with light mist drifting among the treetops and narrow roads surrounded by dense forests. The atmosphere made me feel like I had stepped into another world.

Traveling in Tuyên Quang reminded me of the time I visited a Buddhist temple in Da Lat (Buddhist Temple in Da Lat) located on Phoenix Mountain north and near the beautiful Tuyen Lam Lake. Although they are different provinces, the peaceful feeling and closeness to nature I experienced in both places were surprisingly similar.

Local Lifestyle and Culture

In Tuyên Quang, I had the chance to walk into a small local market full of fresh produce and local foods. The scent of Vietnamese spices and herbs filled the air. This market is a meeting point for local people, clearly showing that they still maintain a traditional lifestyle—unhurried and peaceful, unlike big cities.

The food I tried was simple but very flavorful, whether it was sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves, thin noodle soup with rich broth, or grilled button squid that I had seen inthe Grilled Vietnamese Button Squid videowhich was served fresh and hot here. Eating in this homely atmosphere is what mr.hotsia loves most because it made me feel truly part of the community.

Travel and Relaxation in Tuyên Quang

Getting here might be a bit difficult for those used to convenience, but for mr.hotsia, this is the true charm of travel. Seeing the views on both sides filled with rice fields and lush green mountains, as well as chatting with locals on local buses, was a very rewarding experience.

As for accommodation, although there are no luxury hotels or large resorts like in big cities, the small guesthouses in Tuyên Quang town are charming and cozy. I chose to stay in a place with friendly owners, basic amenities, and affordable prices, similar to the small hotels I recommended in Viet Tri city (Recommended Hotels in Viet Tri city) which have a similar atmosphere.

Connecting Travel in Northern Vietnam

After exploring Tuyên Quang, I recommend continuing by bus to nearby provinces like Lang Son to experience the border town atmosphere with the Ky Cung River flowing through, or if you like the sea and beautiful beaches, you can plan a trip to Nha Trang (Nha Trang Sea Beach) which has clean beaches, clear sea water, and fresh seafood. mr.hotsia has visited and recorded many impressive moments there.

For anyone wanting to get to know Vietnam from a different perspective and not just focus on popular tourist spots, Tuyên Quang is a province I highly recommend experiencing yourself. It holds hidden beauty in nature and the authentic lifestyle of northern Vietnamese people, which mr.hotsia is confident you will fall in love with just like I did.
