Experience Vinh Phuc Province, Vietnam with Mr.Hotsia

In northern Vietnam, there is a province I want to introduce calledVinh PhucThis province may not be as famous as Hanoi or Sapa, but for Mr.Hotsia who has actually traveled there, Vinh Phuc is interesting for its local lifestyle, nature, and culture that still preserves the authentic northern Vietnamese identity very well.

The Charm of Vinh Phuc: A Small City Full of Life

The first time I arrived in Vinh Phuc, I felt the peace and simplicity of the local life. The streets were not very busy. There was a small fresh market in the town center that served as a meeting point for locals. I strolled through the market looking for a local-style “pho” breakfast, which had a mellow flavor unlike what I had tasted in big cities. Here, Mr.Hotsia spent time observing the lifestyle of people who still maintain traditional customs well, similar to what I saw in nearby provinces likeLang Son Provincewhere I stayed and experienced the impressive mountain atmosphere and local markets.

Travel and Access to Vinh Phuc

I chose to travel from Hanoi by bus, which was convenient and hassle-free. It took about one and a half hours to reach Vinh Phuc city. Traveling within the province is easy by motorbike and local taxis. Although communication can be somewhat challenging, it gives a closer connection to the people. Interestingly, Vinh Phuc serves as a gateway to other tourist destinations in northern Vietnam. For those who want to continue traveling toVinh Long Bus Stationor other cities, it is very convenient.

Natural and Cultural Attractions in Vinh Phuc

Vinh Phuc has a landscape that combines plains and small hills, making it not too tiring to explore nature spots. Especially during my visit in the rainy season, the weather was cool and refreshing. What impressed me were the temples and pagodas in the city with beautiful northern Vietnamese architecture. The peaceful atmosphere was perfect for meditation or admiring local art. Additionally, I tried famous street foods such as grilled button squid and Vietnamese chicken biryani, which had flavors different from those in big cities. The grilled button squid was particularly fresh and flavorful in the northern Vietnamese style (watch the grilled button squid clip athere)

Must-Try Local Foods in Vinh Phuc

Mr.Hotsia swears the food here is truly delicious. I recommend trying the northern Vietnamese style “chicken biryani” which is unlike any other. The rice is fragrant and soft, the grilled chicken is aromatic with spices and almost melts in your mouth, and the dipping sauce has a perfectly balanced sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavor. For lunch or dinner, I stopped at a small roadside restaurant that looked like an ordinary house but served food bursting with flavor worth sharing. Also, the morning market here offers a wide variety of fresh and local products, perfect for those who love to explore markets and experience authentic local life.

Connecting to Nearby Tourist and Cultural Attractions

If you travel to Vinh Phuc, I recommend planning to continue your trip to nearby provinces like Lang Son, which I have written about in the articleLang Son Province, Vietnamwhich has high mountains and beautiful nature. Or if you enjoy peaceful temples with beautiful art, try visitingBuddhist Temples in Da Lat Citywhich I have visited and was very impressed with.

Advice from Mr.Hotsia for Travelers

I want you to prepare for your trip with an open heart and be ready to experience true northern Vietnam. Vinh Phuc has not yet been affected much by mass tourism. Exploring local markets, relaxing with Vietnamese coffee at roadside cafes, or strolling along the river in the evening are all experiences you will remember for a long time. Additionally, traveling to other places in northern Vietnam is easy and convenient.
