VietJet Air is a new low-cost airline in Vietnam. This airline is really cheap and cheaper than AirAsia on many flights. For example, I booked a VietJet Air ticket in advance from Hanoi to Bangkok.
The airfare is about 1,500 baht, excluding baggage. If you include baggage, add another 200-300 baht. Meanwhile, AirAsia's price is more than double. VietJet Air is also suitable for domestic travel. I flew VietJet Air from Danang to Hanoi with baggage up to 15 kg included for about 1,000 baht. Taking a sleeper bus would require one night, so VietJet Air is a good option for traveling within Vietnam.
At various airports in major cities, VietJet Air operates flights to places like Buon Ma Thuot, Dalat, Hanoi, Danang, and Ho Chi Minh City. There are no flights to the northern region yet. On VietJet Air flights, meals are sold onboard for about 90 baht. I recommend booking meals when purchasing your ticket and choosing a window seat. The price is affordable, just a few tens of baht, and meal prices are discounted. The onboard meals have a Vietnamese style, with some Thai dishes as well.
Oh, the menu even includes Thai language, which is impressive. I didn't pre-order meals but bought and tried some onboard to share with you. Here's a story: when I traveled from Hanoi to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, I forgot to buy baggage allowance. I thought I had clicked to add baggage, but actually, I didn't purchase it. If you have money, it's not a big deal, but I didn't have much because I had to pay about 30 USD extra. Luckily, a friend who follows my travels transferred money for me to use.
I received 2,000 baht and used it to pay. Otherwise, I wouldn't know how to solve the problem. So make sure you book baggage allowance; otherwise, you might face the same issue as me. Also, always carry some money when traveling; don't spend everything. Taking photos on VietJet Air during safety demonstrations is not allowed. Many airlines prohibit photos and videos during that time, including VietJet Air.
At other times, taking photos is fine. VietJet Air flight attendants wear beautiful plaid hats. They are Vietnamese ladies, but I haven't found anyone cuter than Nok Air's attendants. The cutest goes to Nok Air, followed by AirAsia, then VietJet Air in terms of beauty.
