(Binh Duong) You can take a bus from Ho Chi Minh City's Northern Bus Station to Thu Dau Mot, a small town that is quiet and not crowded with tourists. There are only a few hotels in town. The area features small hills, banana groves, and local people raising chickens. There is a Co.op Mart shopping center near the bus station. I stayed here one night before traveling to Binh Phuoc province. If you arrive at Thu Dau Mot Bus Station,
it is located next to the city shopping mall. When you exit the bus station, go left along the road. You can take a motorbike taxi into town, or I chose to walk to a very cheap accommodation in a banana grove. The town's terrain is hilly as it connects to the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Accommodation here is cheaper than in other cities because it is not a tourist city. mr.hotsia February 2012
