The ferry from Ha Tien to Phu Quoc is a fast small ferry (not a hydrofoil), taking about one and a half hours. The cost is 230,000 VND. There are daily departures at 08:00 and 13:00. The ferry is air-conditioned and has a restroom at the back. Passengers can stand at the rear deck, although smoking is allowed there. However, standing at the rear is prohibited when the ferry is docking or departing for safety reasons. When buying tickets to Phu Quoc Island, there are two prices: the first is 210,000 VND.
There is another pier on Phu Quoc Island with a ticket price of 230,000 VND. These two piers are about 4 kilometers apart. When I visited, I used the first pier named Nam Ninh. I cannot recall the name of the more expensive pier. I recommend using the first pier (Nam Ninh) because it has an interesting fresh market where I saw live seahorses sold for 75 baht each. It is also a larger town. Both piers require taking transport across the island to the other side. Taxi and motorbike services are available for crossing.
I recommend taking a taxi because the roads on Phu Quoc Island are very dusty. Many companies provide ferry services and ticket bookings to Phu Quoc Island.
