สถานที่ท่องเที่ยวที่น่าไปเที่ยวหากได้มาเยือนที่หนองคายคือ “ศาลาแก้วกู่” คนสร้างชื่อปู่บุญเหลือ เป็นคนลาวที่ข้ามมาจากลาว ก่อนข้ามมาไทยท่านได้สร้างแบบเดียวกับศาลาแก้วกู่ไว้ที่เวียงจันทน์ อยู่ตรงข้ามกับศาลาแก้วกู่ แต่อยู่ฝั่งลาวครับ ที่ลาวเขาเรียกว่าตรงนั้นว่า สวนพระ(Buddha park) ศาลาแก้วกู่ของไทยมีอีกชื่อว่าวัดแขก มีนักท่องเที่ยวจากทั่วโลกมาเที่ยวสถานที่นี้เพราะหนังสือท่องเที่ยวไกด์บุ๊คของฝรั่งเขาลงไว้
หากมีรถคลิกพิกัด GPS เหนือรูปเที่ยวได้เลย แต่หากไม่ได้มารถส่วนตัว เหมารถตุ๊กจากในเมืองเที่ยววัดโพธิ์ชัย ศาลาแก้วกู่ เจดีย์กลางน้ำ เป็นวงรอบราคาประมาณ 3-500 บาท ต่อหนึ่งคัน
