ถ้ำท่านประธานสุภานุวงศ์ เดิมเรียกว่า ถ้ำผาปุ่ง (ผาโป่ง) แต่เดิมถ้ำนี้เป็นป่าดงดิบ มีสัตว์ต่างๆ มากมาย เช่น กวาง เก้ง และสัตว์อื่นๆ อาศัยอยู่มาก เขตนี้มีโป่งน้ำสัตว์ทั้งหลายใช้อาศัยกินน้ำ ประชาชนจึงเรียกว่าผาปุ่ง (ผาโป่ง) ในต้นปี 1964 ท่านประธานสภานุวงศ์ได้ย้ายสำนักเข้าอยู่ถ้ำแห่งนี้ ในขั้นแรกก็อาศัยถ้ำ ธรรมชาติ แต่ต่อมาก็ได้เริ่มปรับปรุง เป็นที่พักอาศัย มีหลายห้องคือ ห้องป้องกัน, ห้องนอน, ห้องประชุม ฯลฯ อยู่นอกถ้ำมีห้องเล็กใช้เป็นห้องอาหาร นอกจากนั้น ยังมีเรือนเล็กหนึ่งหลัง ซึ่งปลูกให้ท่านสุภานุวงศ์พักอยู่ภายหลังสงคราม ระหว่างรอการ ก่อสร้างบ้านพักหลังใหม่สำเร็จ
