ผมเที่ยวเวียดนามมาหลายเมืองส่วนใหญ่ชาวบ้านเขานิยมเลี้ยงไก่ชนกัน เมืองหวีทันก็เช่นกัน ตามร้านค้าด้านหน้าจะมีสุ่มไก่ชน บ้านก็ไก่แจ้ เลี้ยงกันทั่วไป ตามตึกแถวหรือบ้านบางคนก็เอาไปเลี้ยงที่ดาดฟ้า อย่างตึกข้างโรงแรมที่ผมพัก ก็มีไก่แจ้สีขาวเลี้ยงไว้ชั้นบนสุด ทำที่ให้อยู่อย่างดี ในตอนเช้าเมืองนี้จะได้ยินเสียงไก่ขันปลุกแต่เช้ามืด ทำให้นึกถึงสมัยก่อนที่บ้านผมที่เลี้ยงไก่ เหมือนกลับไปเป็นเด็กสมัยก่อน นอนตื่นเพราะเสียงไก่ขันยามเช้า
ชาวไทย ลาว เวียดนาม พื้นบ้านนิยมเลี้ยงไก่แล้วเอามาชนกิน ไก่ชนนี้พม่าก็มีด้วย พอกาลเวลาผ่านไป ความคุ้นเคยจางลง การชนไก่ถูกมองเป็นโหดร้าย กีฬาชนไก่ก็ค่อยๆ หายไป หากต้องการเห็นวิถีดั้งเดิมลองมาแถวเวียดนามใต้ครับ ผมว่ายังคงมีอยู่มาก และไม่เห็นแววว่าจะหมดไปง่ายๆ เมืองหวีทัน เป็นเมืองที่มีไก่ชนเยอะ ผมเดินไปตามถนนตอนกลับเห็นชาวบ้านอุ้มไก่ของขา อย่างมีความสุก และเต็มใจให้ผมได้ชื่นชมด้วยครับ mr.hotsia กุมพาพันธ์ 2555
