Although not exactly like traditional coconut pancakes, SRABI SOLO is an Indonesian coconut pancake made from a thinner batter similar to 'khanom thang taek' but baked in a larger mold like coconut pancakes. There are two varieties: banana and chocolate. I tried both and found them a bit too sweet. Each piece costs just a few baht. I ate this in Solo City (Surakarta), Indonesia. Along the roadside, there are sweets like Es Thole Buah Bakar Exotica SOLO, Indonesian red syrup bread. It is a cold sweet treat sold on the streets of Solo (Surakarta).
It contains jelly, bread, milk, and red syrup. I call it Indonesian red syrup bread. When eating, you sit on the floor. An old steam locomotive train passes by, creating a nice atmosphere. Indonesian red syrup bread has a local name in Indonesian, seen on signs, but I am not sure which one exactly is used: "Es Thole Buah Bakar Exotica." The place I relied on for meals is a shop in front of ISTANA Griya 2 accommodation. Two elderly people sell decent oxtail soup. At night, near the accommodation, there is a similar dish like boiled offal, delicious with steamed rice.
There are many shops along the street. Most local food here is affordable.
