During my stay here, I stayed at ISTANA Griya 2 Hotel for two nights while writing about hotel recommendations in Solo (SOLO).
Also known as Surakarta, I am currently staying at ISTANA Griya 2 Hotel. This hotel is good, not far from the Sultan's Palace, located in a safe area. Delicious chicken satay is just behind the alley a short walk away. Across the street, there is my favorite oxtail soup. There is an ATM at the alley entrance, and if you turn left, across the street is a famous spa in Solo. Visitors to Solo usually do a few things: ride the vintage steam locomotive train, visit the Sultan's Palace, and stroll around to observe local life. I stayed at the hotel.
Griya 2, I think everything is okay. I walked around many areas in Solo city but found this place the best. When I stayed, the rate was 250,000 Rupiah per night, or 750 Baht (Click here to book the hotel I stayed at). If you don't like this place or want a cheaper stay, there are options below with photos. If you want a slightly higher price, stay in the prime location zone at Novotel Solo Hotel, located next to Ibis Solo Hotel. These two hotels are in a walking zone closer to the main street.
