Exploring Luang Namtha city, evening and night markets of Luang Namtha, delicious food in Luang Namtha, Luang Namtha bus station, tasty pho restaurant in Luang Namtha, Luang Namtha market 2013, Muang Sing morning market, Muang Sing evening market, authentic Lue rice crackers, Muang Sing bus station, traveling to Laos, all women must wear hair combs, Kui tribe or Gui tribe.

The Kui tribe refers to the Yellow Muser or Muser Kui. The Muser have four branches: Red Muser, Black Muser, Yellow Muser (Kui), and Miao Muser. The village I visited in Muang Long is Kui, locally called Gui. This tribe is unique because all women wear a hair comb in their hair, but I did not see this among teenage girls anymore. Only women aged 25-30 and above still wear the comb. I believe this tradition will soon disappear.
I want friends to visit this tribe and see it as I did before this culture vanishes from the world. I have some information from the Muser ethnic database. The Muser are also called Lahu, a subgroup of the Tibeto-Burman language family. When I visited, one household was having a fire ceremony for a newborn. I sat and talked with them and was welcomed with two cups of corn whiskey. Here, they never drink just one cup; they drink in pairs, otherwise, it is considered bad luck. mr.hotsia January 2013
