Leaving Muang Long, 10 kilometers on the left is Luntan village, home to the Luntan tribe. They live simply and comfortably. I saw many people wearing their traditional tribe clothes in dark blue. While walking around, I met Luntan women dyeing fabric with natural colors. There were fabrics laid out in the yard ready for drying. Children in the village were playing happily. At the Luntan house, I sat and spent time with the tribe members and got to see their ancient books.
I have no information about the origins of the Luntan tribe, not even online. In northern Laos and Vietnam, I know there are over 50 tribes. I checked books but did not find the Luntan tribe.
