Tamu Myanmar 2: Falam City, Chin State, Myanmar - Hidden Beauty in the Valley

Hello, I am mr.hotsia. Today I take you to experience the real atmosphere of Falam city in Chin State, Myanmar. This city might be unfamiliar to many, but for me, it is one of the destinations that truly amazed me with Myanmar's cultural diversity and nature.

Falam is the main city of Chin State, located in the western part of Myanmar. This state features mountainous terrain and Chin villages that still firmly preserve their traditional way of life. The tranquility and simple lifestyle of the villagers in Falam made me feel like I traveled back in time to experience authentic rural life.

Traveling to Falam

Getting to Falam is not easy, but not too difficult for adventure lovers like me. I started from Yangon, flying to Tachileik city, then continued by car along winding roads filled with beautiful mountain and forest views. Along the way, I saw the lifestyle of villagers settled in small roadside villages, including lively local markets full of colorful daily goods.

If you are interested in this route, I recommend preparing your body well and don't forget to bring a camera because the scenery along the way is too beautiful to miss. The atmosphere here reminded me ofKachin Statewhich I visited before, featuring equally stunning mountains and nature. And if you like large freshwater lakes, don't miss visitingIndawgyi Lakein Kachin State, another part of Myanmar rich in biodiversity.

Chin People's Lifestyle and Culture

I strolled along the small streets of Falam and met Chin people still dressed in brightly colored traditional costumes with unique patterns. The locals were friendly and cheerful. Although English is not widely spoken, body language and smiles were enough to make me feel warm.

At the local market, I tried rare local dishes such as Chin-style curry and sticky rice mixed with spices, which were flavorful and reminded me of the food atmosphere inBagan, Myanmarwhere I had traveled before.

Nature Around Falam

Falam is a gateway to the surrounding pristine nature. I had the chance to hike around villages and enjoy mountain views covered with lush green forests. The fresh and cool atmosphere was very different from the hustle of big cities.

When I visited Falam, the weather was not too hot, making traveling and exploring nature around the city easy and enjoyable. I also encountered small villages that still firmly preserve their arts, culture, and language, which is a rare experience in big cities.

Personal Impressions from mr.hotsia

For me, visiting Falam in Chin State was like opening another world of Myanmar, not just big cities and familiar tourist spots, but a region full of local culture and nature that remains truly pure.

I want everyone who loves deep travel to open their hearts and experience Falam and Chin State at least once because this is one of Myanmar's small corners that will make you feel the world still has many new things to discover.
