Tinsaou: Experience the charm of Burmese girls and Indawgyi Lake in Kachin State

When talking about Myanmar, many might think of Bagan with its thousands of pagodas, but for me, mr.hotsia, traveling toTinsaouinKachin Stateis a journey that truly fulfills the spirit of travel. This place is a cultural hub ofBurmese girlsalso known as the ethnic groupRed Taiand theShan peopleblended with the beautiful nature ofIndawgyi Lakeone of the largest freshwater lakes in Southeast Asia

Experience the lifestyle of Burmese girls in Tinsaou

Tinsaou is not just an ordinary tourist destination, but a place where I experienced the lifestyle of Burmese girls who still preserve their traditional customs admirably. The girls here not only embody the beauty typical of the Red Tai but also charm with their warm smiles and friendly manners.

I strolled through the market by Indawgyi Lake, seeing wild products sold by locals including native vegetables, seasonal fruits, and finely handcrafted woven goods. It felt like stepping back in time to experience a simple yet joyful daily life here.

Indawgyi Lake: The freshwater emerald of Kachin State

Indawgyi Lake stretches 24 kilometers from north to south and 13 kilometers from east to west. The area around the lake is home to over 20 villages of Shan and Red Tai people, which I had the chance to visit. The peaceful atmosphere and surrounding nature remain well preserved.

While cruising the lake, I saw various bird species flying around, rare wildlife, including Greylag geese and the purple Swamphen, which are rare in Southeast Asia. The lake was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1999, helping to maintain the forest and wildlife's richness.

How to travel to Tinsaou and Kachin State?

If you are interested in visiting Tinsaou, I recommend planning ahead and preparing well. Kachin State is located in northern Myanmar, and you can fly into Myitkyina city, which I have detailed as the source of the Irrawaddy River inKachin Statein detail.

From Myitkyina to Tinsaou is not far. Most travel is by car or rented motorcycle. I, mr.hotsia, spent about an hour driving through small villages and beautiful rice fields along the way. Stopping at various villages allowed me to talk with locals and learn more about the local culture.

Local food and flavors you must try

In Tinsaou and around Indawgyi Lake, the food I tasted was delicious and impressive, from fragrant local herb fish curry to hot sticky rice served with fresh vegetables and special Red Tai chili paste, different from the food in Bagan or Pugam that I wrote about inmy article on Burmese cuisine

There are also fresh, sweet seasonal fruits like mangoes and coconuts sold by locals along the roadside. I recommend trying everything available because the authentic flavors here are charming and tell deep stories of the community.

Culture and ethnic diversity

Tinsaou is a place where cultures of many ethnic groups blend harmoniously, especially the Red Tai and Shan people who still preserve their native languages, traditions, and traditional clothing well. The locals are proud of their roots and warmly welcome travelers who sincerely want to learn about their culture.

Visiting here is not just about enjoying nature but opening your heart to learn about cultural diversity rarely seen nowadays.

Recommended video to experience Tinsaou's atmosphere

For those who want to see real images and the atmosphere of Tinsaou and Indawgyi Lake, I recommend the video I recorded inTinsaou #BurmeseGirls #myanmar #Burma #Indawgyi #RedTai #Shan #IndawgyiLake #KachinStateto give everyone a close look at real life and the beauty here.

Summary

If you dislike crowds, love nature, and want to experience authentic local life, Tinsaou in Kachin State is the answer I, mr.hotsia, want to recommend adding to your travel list. The journey may be challenging, but the warmth of the people and the beauty of Indawgyi Lake will leave you unforgettable impressions.
