Hotel recommendations in Loikaw, Kayah State. How to get to Loikaw. Myanmar's unseen attractions... Sand Umbrellas. Sand emerges like umbrellas in the middle of the lake. Sand mounds rise from the water, appearing and disappearing within a few days, then reappearing again. This is an unseen Myanmar tourist spot popular with visitors from Yangon and Mandalay.

They call these sand mounds 'umbrella sand' because they look like umbrellas rising simultaneously in the water, usually four or sometimes more or fewer. Each umbrella is 1-3 meters wide. I have photos and videos too. Traveling to this unseen Myanmar attraction, the sand emerging from the water, is part of the same trip as visiting the genuine Kayah long-neck villages. You must contact a tour company with signs at your hotel or arrange through your hotel owner. When I visited Loikaw, I stayed at Nan Ayar Inn hotel.
This hotel can accommodate international tourists and displays posters of the 9 Generation company offering one-day trips to the Kayah long-neck villages for 80 USD per day per vehicle, accommodating 3-5 people. Mr.Hotsia March 29, 2016 19°31'57"N, 97°11'30"E GPS coordinates (POI)
