Lopburi Walking Tour in Lopburi

Walking tour in Lopburi http://www.hotsia.com > Lopburi > Walking tour in Lopburi Mr.Hotsia travels in Lopburi, the city of monkeys. Lopburi hotels and accommodations, Thai Phuan basil stir-fry in Lopburi. Mr.Hotsia recommends good and discounted hotels in Lopburi, a military city famous for its monkey banquet tables and traditional Thai wedding ceremonies throughout the city. These are the two main things I noticed. I visited Lopburi this time to see a military friend I hadn't met for a very long time.

I also took the opportunity to see the Lopburi monkeys. The last time I visited Lopburi was over 20 years ago. Initially, I planned to stay at Taipei Hotel, the hotel mentioned in the song 'I Hate Room Number Five' on the second floor in Lopburi. But in the end, I didn't stay there. I stayed one night at a friend's house and one night at Nett Hotel. To talk about accommodation, if you travel like me, I recommend Noom Guest House. Many foreigners stay there, it has free Wi-Fi and a coffee shop in front.

But it was full when I arrived, so I stayed at Nett Hotel. They have free Wi-Fi but only for guests; you can't test the signal beforehand. The internet speed was decent, about 450 baht per night (if I remember correctly). Hotels and shops in the monkey zone have to protect themselves with wire mesh to keep monkeys out. Some even have to reroute electric wires. The Lopburi monkeys are amazing. If you come to Lopburi with your own car, I think it's more convenient than walking around like I did.

Because in Lopburi, there is a very interesting temple called Wat Khao Wong Phrachan. It has a staircase of about 3,799 steps leading to the top of the hill, which is approximately 650 meters above sea level. This temple is over 30 kilometers from the city center and worth visiting. I consider it the number one place for Buddhists. As for me, I didn't go there; I just walked around to see the monkeys, relaxed near Phra Prang Sam Yot, looked for delicious food in town, and walked through the old market since I traveled by walking on this trip. Near Nett Hotel where I stayed, there is a place called 'Gunman Pad Thai.'

It's called 'Gunman Pad Thai' because sometimes when monkeys come to disturb, one hand cooks Pad Thai while the other shoots an air gun to chase the monkeys away. Usually, shops in the monkey area have slingshots to scare monkeys, but this place uses an air gun while cooking. Mr.Hotsia has never been to this shop; I passed by at night when they were closed, but my friends in Lopburi told me about it. Lopburi has many delicious things. I stayed only two nights and mostly socialized with friends. I guess I have to come back again.

The food in Lopburi is similar to the central region in general. I even had a bowl of tom yum noodle soup in town for just 12 baht in an air-conditioned room. The air conditioning fee alone was worth it. I woke up at 5 a.m. to walk the morning market, had egg coffee like the locals, strolled around the city and the lower old market to see the lifestyle of Lopburi people. They have many fishing tools. Then a friend took me to eat at Bo Ngern Grilled Fish restaurant. The wild dishes were delicious, but the grilled fish was a bit tough and cold, probably grilled a long time ago. I think freshly grilled fish would be much better.

From Lopburi, I took the free 6:00 a.m. train to Ayutthaya station.
