I stayed at a friend's house in Langsaka.

These were the first two nights before I continued my solo exploration. Langsaka district is like a mountain gateway welcoming me with the first image that made me feel good as a traveler. I explored the lifestyle of genuine Nakhon Si Thammarat people in Langsaka. At night, I watched them sorting mangosteen and eating fresh mangosteen straight from the orchard. Delicious! I also have some stories about Nakhon Si Thammarat mangosteen to share. The large mangosteens they select are shipped by boat and truck to China. By boat it takes 6 days, by truck through Chiang Khong it takes 3 days.
The next grade down is sent to department stores in Thailand, and the smallest grade is sold by truck within Thailand. I don't know if each sorter uses the same criteria. For example, the mangosteen I ate shown in the photo costs 5 baht per kilogram at the orchard. During shortage periods, prices from the orchard have jumped to 200 baht per kilogram. They harvest the mangosteen while still unripe so that it ripens perfectly upon reaching consumers in China. The taste of mangosteen here is sweet with a slight sourness. Delicious when you come to Nakhon Si Thammarat.
You must not miss eating mangosteen. I ate a lot last night :) I stayed at Joe's house, Ocean Smile, at the Langsaka Tourism Service Center. Joe's younger brother also has a mangosteen orchard. In the evening, he brought large fresh mangosteens from the orchard for me to eat. For the first time in my life, I tasted mangosteen this delicious. It was fresh, sweet with a slight sourness, extremely delicious. When you come to Langsaka, you must try it, I beg you.
