Phang Nga, the city of beautiful bays and intriguing lifestyles, by mr.hotsia
I, mr.hotsia, have traveled to Phang Nga several times, and every time I return to this province, it feels like discovering new perspectives each time. Phang Nga is not just a province with towering limestone mountains and clear seas, but it is also full of warm local community lifestyles and fresh seafood waiting for us to enjoy to the fullest.
When thinking of Phang Nga, many people probably recall “Phang Nga Bay,” known as the filming location of famous movies. Here, limestone mountains rise majestically in the emerald green sea. I remember on my last visit, I took a boat tour to closely admire the beauty of Phang Nga Bay, stopping at several small islands hidden in the bay, such as Koh Hong and Koh Panyi. The peaceful atmosphere and almost untouched nature made me feel like I was truly reconnecting with nature.
If you want to experience tranquility and a slower pace of life, I recommend staying atKo Yao YaiThis island is one of my favorites because besides soaking in natural hot springs with beautiful views of Phang Nga Bay, you can also rent a motorcycle to ride around the island, observe the simple local lifestyle, and savor fresh and delicious local dishes that are worth sharing.
Fresh seafood market and community lifestyle at Khao Lak
Khao Lak is another spot I, mr.hotsia, recommend everyone to visit the fresh seafood market. The market is filled with a variety of seafood including shrimp, shellfish, crab, and fish freshly caught from the sea. If you love fresh seafood, this is a must-visit.Khao Lak Fresh Seafood MarketHere, I tried grilled scallops and grilled squid that retained the full sweetness of the sea.
Also, for early risers who want to experience authentic local atmosphere, walking through the morning market at Khao Lak Bang Niang is an experience not to be missed.Breakfast of Khao Lak Bang Niang localsDishes like curry rice and fried chicken here have unique and incredibly delicious flavors. I, mr.hotsia, have tried many stalls but still especially love the crispy outside, tender inside fried chicken.
Travel and Accessibility to Phang Nga Province
Convenience of traveling to Phang Nga is another important aspect for me, mr.hotsia, because Phang Nga has many districts and routes connecting to nearby provinces. If you travel by public transport, you can useTakuapa Bus StationOr if going via Kuraburi District, there is alsoKuraburi Bus Stationavailable.
For those driving themselves, traveling around Phang Nga is very convenient, especially routes to Khao Lak, Ko Yao Yai, or even viewpoints I have visited such asPhang Nga View Pointwhich is a café and restaurant with such beautiful views that you’ll want to stop and take photos multiple times.
Overall Impression and Final Thoughts from mr.hotsia
Phang Nga is not just a province beautiful in photos or videos seen online, but it is a place where I, mr.hotsia, have experienced the real local lifestyle, the freshness of seafood, and the rich diversity of nature that remains well preserved. I also recommend everyone to open their hearts to travel off the main routes and discover peaceful spots like Ko Yao Yai or visit the morning market at Khao Lak, which will make you feel like you are experiencing Phang Nga as the locals do.
If you want to see the atmosphere as I did, watch the videoPhang Nga Province Thailandthat I, mr.hotsia, filmed myself. I guarantee you will see the beauty and charm of Phang Nga from perspectives you won’t find anywhere else.
