Original delicious Nakhon Pathom Chinese banquet with flavors that I, mr.hotsia, must share

Nakhon Pathom, a province many see as just a passage to the south, but for me, mr.hotsia, this visit to Nakhon Pathom is another memorable experience, especially the food here, which is no joke. The Chinese banquets in Nakhon Pathom are famous for their original delicious taste, with many restaurants to choose from, each with its own distinct character. I had the chance to taste at a place I consider truly outstanding, “Maitri (Jiam) Restaurant.” This is not just an ordinary restaurant but one deeply connected to the local lifestyle and Chinese culture passed down through generations.

Many may wonder what makes Nakhon Pathom Chinese banquets special? The truth is that Nakhon Pathom is a city with an old Chinese community, which means the Chinese banquet flavors have been authentically preserved. Most banquet restaurants here raise their own ducks to ensure fresh and top-quality ducks, as duck is a key ingredient famous in Nakhon Pathom. I have tried the stewed and roasted duck at Maitri (Jiam) Restaurant; the flavors are rich and unique, truly delicious and worth sharing.

One experience I really enjoyed was sitting and talking with the restaurant owner and the team managing the banquet. They shared that the secret to truly tasting the food’s real flavor is to try it during dinner time; if the food still tastes good then, it means it’s really well made, not just good when hot. Also, good banquet management should have professional staff controlling the food service because they have the experience and know the right timing for serving. I totally agree because we usually organize events once a year or less and are not as skilled as professionals.

Maitri (Jiam) Restaurant has handled large banquets of up to 525 tables, proving their expertise and customer trust. Prices for Chinese banquets here start at 999 baht and go up to around 2,000 baht, depending on the number and variety of dishes ordered. I recommend that if you want to experience authentic Nakhon Pathom Chinese banquet, you must try this place. You won’t be disappointed.

Nakhon Pathom offers more than just Chinese banquet food; it also has an interesting food culture.

If you follow me, mr.hotsia, you’ll know that Nakhon Pathom is not only famous for Chinese banquets but also many local dishes worth exploring, such as red pork rice and crispy pork rice from the famous “Nai Chua” restaurant that I have visited. And if you’re interested in full duck dishes, I recommend the duck basil stir-fry at Nai Nae’s, a friend’s restaurant in Nakhon Pathom (read about the duck basil stir-fry atNai Nae’s Duck Basil Stir-Fry)

The lifestyle and culture here blend Chinese and Thai influences perfectly. I learned that each locality has different flavor preferences; for example, people in Bang Bo like strong flavors, and I also enjoy strong tastes, making tasting food in each place fun and challenging.

Strolling around Nakhon Pathom with markets and must-try foods

After enjoying the Chinese banquet, I, mr.hotsia, also recommend taking a walk in Nakhon Pathom’s morning markets such asNakhon Pathom Morning Marketwhich is full of fresh food, local dishes, and a warm community atmosphere. Also, the market in front of the Phra Pathom Chedi is another spot not to miss for street food lovers, offering a variety of foods to try and a genuine local lifestyle experience.
