Vietnamese Food Buffet Hanoi: A paradise for food lovers at Ngoc Mai Vang

Hello, I'm mr.hotsia. Today, I'll take you to explore an authentic Vietnamese buffet in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, which I had the chance to taste and must share. “Ngoc Mai Vang” is a buffet restaurant located on the 17th floor of Ruby Plaza, 44 Le Ngoc Han, Hai Ba Trung district. It is considered one of the top 10 buffet restaurants to try when visiting Hanoi.

I arrived in Hanoi via Lao Airlines from Vientiane. The fare was quite affordable, around 4,000 baht. I chose to enter the city by bus line 17, which I recommend as it is convenient and economical. Although it takes a bit longer, the atmosphere along the old town streets of Hanoi is more authentic than by taxi or van. Why Ngoc Mai Vang?

Ngoc Mai Vang is a buffet restaurant that impressed me because of its variety and authentic Vietnamese flavors that clearly reflect the lifestyle and culture of the locals. Especially the fresh seafood dishes, such as the large grilled squid that I recorded on video (if interested, you can watch my Vietnamese grilled squid clip atGrilled Vietnamese Button Squid)

However, the blue crab and squid dishes are limited to one set per person, which I understand because seafood prices in Vietnam are relatively higher than at home. I personally think that compared to Thai seafood BBQ, restaurants in Thailand offer better value. But if you visit Vietnam and want to focus on authentic Vietnamese food, this place is very worthwhile. The atmosphere is warm, service is good, and it’s clean and suitable for all ages.

Must-Try Dishes

Besides seafood, there are many Vietnamese dishes here, such as Vietnamese chicken biryani, fragrant with spices and smooth in flavor (I have recorded a clip atVietnamese Chicken Biryani), and Nem Fang with its unique aroma. There are also fresh vegetables, special dipping sauces, and unlimited Vietnamese desserts to try.

I enjoy traveling in Hanoi where old and new cultures blend perfectly, clearly seen in the lively restaurants and markets. If you want to experience this atmosphere yourself, try stopping by Ngoc Mai Vang to truly taste authentic Vietnamese flavors.

Additional Recommendations for Traveling in Hanoi

If you stay in Hanoi for several days, I recommend walking around the Old Quarter and Pho Gia Thu area, which have markets, coffee shops, and beautiful temples nearby. If you want to explore nearby provinces, tours are easily available from Hanoi, such as tours to Cao Dai Temple and the Cu Chi Tunnels, which I have written about in an articleCao Dai Templewhich is interesting both historically and culturally.

For those planning to travel to southern Vietnam next time, don’t forget to read my articleBuying Tours in Ho Chi Minh Citywhere I recommend interesting tour trips to make your journey more complete and enjoyable.
