Journey South to Tuy Hoa

I took a bus from Qui Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, to Tuy Hoa, covering about 100 kilometers. The trip took around two hours, costing 60,000 dong per person. Traveling along the main coastal road allowed me to see the sea views and fishing villages on both sides. The bus passed a large intersection where motorbike drivers waited to pick up tourists into the city, charging 50,000 dong (about 80 baht). I felt this was too expensive, so I walked about 2 kilometers into the city instead.

Tuy Hoa is a city formed from the sediment of the Đà Rằng River, giving it a wide flat area with a population of about 200,000 (data from 2012). I was impressed that the city has two prominent mountains near its center: Chóp Chài and Nhạn. Especially Nhạn Mountain, which has an ancient Cham temple at its summit. I spent one day in Tuy Hoa walking around the city and climbing Nhạn Mountain to see the ancient Cham pagoda. From this point, you can enjoy beautiful views of the city and the flowing river.
