In Vietnam, the prices of liquor and wine are affordable. I think they have lower taxes than in our country. Beer is very cheap; for example, I only pay 5 baht per glass for Saigon beer. A 3-liter bottle of Chilean wine, which tastes great, sells for about 400-500 baht. As for local Vietnamese spirits, there are many brands. One brand I tried and really liked has a fragrant aroma and excellent taste. I highly recommend it if you have a chance to visit Vietnam. Look for this bottle; it costs just a few hundred baht.
Try buying some and sip a little each day as an appetizer before meals. I bought Nep Moi from Hoi An, traveling through the longest tunnel in Southeast Asia called Van, which passes under Hai Van Mountain. The liquor's aroma comes from Hoi An. I drank it in Hue on a very cold day with closed weather, which warmed me up immediately. The atmosphere tonight was truly wonderful.
