Besides the Perfume River area, you can stroll and enjoy beer for less than 10 baht per glass, find Vietnamese food, and exchange experiences with tourists from other countries.
From my experience and talking with other tourists, pickpocketing is common on buses in Vietnam. Be aware that if you're not careful, you might get your bag cut, pickpocketed, or slashed. Tourists worldwide have complained. So be very cautious. Also avoid deserted places without tourists. Walk in crowded areas. Avoid motorbike riders offering tours or services.
