Up to

now, there is no place like Hue preserving many original historical relics as this ancient northern bank of the Perfume River has palaces and defensive ramparts stretching 11km in length. This valuable construction includes more than 100 architectural works that vividly reflect the lives of Emperors and mandarins during their reign in the middle of hills on

the southern bank of the Perfume River are the very beautiful tombs of the Nguyen Kings. Among these tombs are the four famous ones whose names and arrangements reflect each Emperor's views, personality, and tastes. These are the majestic Gia Long Tomb, the imposing Minh Mang Tomb, the poetic Tu Duc Tomb, and the magnificent Khai Dinh Tomb. Hue is also an important center of Buddhism. In Hue and its

surroundings still exist temples from 300 years ago, and some from the early century. Besides, Hue is the birthplace of royal music and is known for its traditional famous dishes. As a unique city in Vietnam that still retains its medieval city form and monarchic constructions, Hue has become a large and invaluable museum. Therefore, the relics in the ancient capital of Hue have been

classified by the government as a very precious heritage and in December 1993, Hue was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage Site. Information from: http://www.vietnamtourism.com
