The first is located in the city center, not far from the market. This pier serves routes between Rach Gia, Ca Mau, Nam Can, and Dat Mui.

The other pier is for boats going to Can Tho Province (pronounced Gen Teo, but I use Can Tho as it is the term long used by Thai people, similar to how Siem Reap is called Siem Raj). This pier is about 6 kilometers north of the city center.
There are not many boats; these boats travel to Can Tho Province. The fare is 120,000 dong or 180 baht per person. Boats depart twice daily at 08:00 and 13:00. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours. Both piers have restaurants, coffee shops, and local-style restrooms. To get to the second pier for the Can Tho trip, take a taxi from the city center; the fare is about 50,000 dong or 75 baht. The Vietnamese word for pier is 'Ben Tau'.
The word 'Tau' means boat or can also mean train. When telling a taxi driver, say 'Di Ben Tau Di Can Tho,' meaning go to the Can Tho pier. For other boat fares: from Rach Gia to Ca Mau, from Ca Mau to Nam Can, and from Nam Can to Dat Mui, the fare is 60,000 dong or 90 baht per route. Boat fares in Vietnam are clearly regulated with posted notices, likely by the transport authority.
