Dong Nai Province Food and Dining
http://www.hotsia.com > Dong Nai Province > Food and Dining Information about Bien Hoa, Bien Ha (Dong Nai) Food of Dong Nai people Traveling to Bien Hoa City Rice with curry in Bien Hoa city Food of Bien Hoa people (bien hoa Dong Nai food) Food of Bien Hoa people, Dong Nai Province I noticed that this city favors roasted duck, crispy pork, rice noodles with shrimp paste chili sauce, and pomelo which is sold abundantly here. Pho restaurants are rare in this city. There are rice with curry shops in the market.

But avoid eating catfish as it’s not as tasty as expected. When I wrote this, I had just eaten rice noodles with shrimp paste chili sauce. I stayed here for two nights. For breakfast, I recommend walking through the market and on the way back find something to eat near the school. Lunch is hot, so you can eat at COOP or Big C. For dinner, try the rice noodles with shrimp paste chili sauce. It’s unique and delicious. Big C here has a Shabushi buffet priced at 250 baht per person, but if you go around 3 PM, it’s 180 baht per person.
Shabushi in this Vietnamese city offers a generous set of meat. It’s very satisfying. They also have drinks on the conveyor belt with prices labeled. The soup bases come in three types: Vietnamese, Thai (Tom Yum), and Chinese with mild chili. I recommend the Tom Yum flavor; it’s delicious. Interestingly, Bien Hoa has many vegetarian restaurants spread around. Even the market sells vegetarian food, unlike other cities I visited, indicating more people here follow vegetarian diets.
However, many people eat fish here. From my morning market walk, fish is popular, but it’s hard to find shops selling prepared fish dishes. The popular dish is tofu, which they fry and eat with noodles or dip in shrimp paste chili sauce by the roadside. This city doesn’t sell dog meat in the market. The morning market has various fish similar to ours. The snakehead fish here is large, and eels are sold more than in our country. Fish preparation in this city or other Vietnamese cities uses scissors.
Vietnam seems abundant. The market sells plenty of seasonal fruits like custard apple and pomelo, which were fully stocked when I visited. On both sides of the street, if there are shops, there will be smoothie shops called 'Sinh Tố' in Vietnamese, which are popular. They can include anything. Vietnamese fruit smoothies are delicious. I often eat them, but not in this city. Another common street food is chicken or duck rice porridge, a staple for southern Vietnamese. Some cities even have eel rice porridge.
Another dish I liked here is Bot Chien, which is fried rice flour cake with eggs, seasoned with a little vegetable (Fried Rice Flour Cake with Eggs Recipe). This dish is famous among Vietnamese people and has tutorials on YouTube. As for me, mr.hotsia teaches how to eat it. I eat it with two eggs, costing about 30 baht. The shop is near the Tulip hotel where I stayed. This dish reminds me of our fried oyster cake. It’s very delicious and satisfying. I recommend good and affordable hotels in Bien Hoa, Dong Nai.
