If anyone has followed my workmr.hotsiabefore, you would know that I am not someone who enjoys just passing through beautiful places, but I like to dive deep into the real lifestyle of local people. This time, I backpacked toKampota small province in southern Cambodia that still preserves the simple life of villagers, something rare in today's world.

Kampot is not only known for its beautiful nature and calm sea, but it is also a hub of authentic local food culture. I arrived at Kampot’s morning market early in the morning. The atmosphere was bustling with vendors and locals buying fresh produce, including fresh vegetables, fruits, crabs, fish, and most strikingly, live frogs lined up waiting to be grilled over charcoal. I saw locals skewer live frogs and grill them over hot charcoal, brushing them with a special sauce that seemed to be a secret family recipe.

The Kae Boang or grilled frog here is unlike anywhere else. The tender frog meat infused with the aroma of spices and smoky charcoal made me finish the entire plate along with an extra bag of hot sticky rice I bought.
