Speaking of my travels in Cambodia, Ta Kaew Province (TA KAEW) is a striking and quite interesting province due to its location next to the Vietnam border, especially the immigration checkpoint where I once crossed by boat from Vietnam to this province. Although I didn’t stop last time, this time I intentionally traveled to Ta Kaew town, amidst the small provincial capital atmosphere with a simple and warm way of life.

To get here from Phnom Penh, I chose to take a bus from Soraya Tour company, which takes about 2 and a half hours. There are 4 trips daily, allowing me to plan my trip smoothly. Although the bus was a bit hot along the way, arriving in Ta Kaew, the refreshing local atmosphere made up for the fatigue.

Besides Bualoy, Ta Kaew Province offers many other local Khmer dishes worth trying, such as Khmer sticky rice dumplings which differ noticeably from ours, being mild and not too sweet. There are also other desserts like "Khnom On Son" sticky rice dumplings, available only during festivals like Buddhist Lent Day, similar to our own Lent Day traditions.
