I remember my father used to cut my hair this way when I was in elementary school. The pulling was painfully satisfying. Today, I wanted to go retro and try a trim to get the authentic atmosphere of visiting a remote province.
Actually, shops like this have both electric clippers and traditional manual clippers. I chose to have them use the traditional manual clippers instead. After the haircut, I also had my mustache and beard shaved. We couldn’t really understand each other’s language. Khmer and Thai are similar languages, and if both sides want to understand, they can communicate. But if you decide not to understand, then you won’t.
